CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS: UMBREON (ReBirth project)

 

Hello again everyone and welcome to project ReBirth! The new and improved version of Umbreon stands before you. So much has been changed and updated that this version is more of a rework than an update! So, what's new?

 

- All of Umbreon's sprites have been remade smaller and cleaner

- New animations have been added

- Movelist has been considerably reworked and rebalanced

- Many sounds have been reworked as well. Much less annoying clicks for now!

- Bugs have been fixed. Not all of them, but most. (hopefully) no more infinite scratch framelocks!

- New moves and options have been introduced

Features

Detect: (block right before the opponent attack hits)

Get the timing of your blocks right and you will be rewarded with extra frames of opportunity!

 

Double Team (ground):

When you are downed by the enemy, hold directional button to teleport to the standing position, throwing enemy off with confusing decoys!

 

Dark Burst: (a+b+c)

Your most useful 'get off me' tool! Pushes the enemy back, damaging them. You are invulnerable while doing it. Usable when you're trapped in enemy's combo or if you just want to push the opponent away. Costs 1000 power.

Beat Up:

scratch (a) --- tail whip (a) --- heave (on tail whip hit 'a')

Basic and easy to use three hit combo customary for project ReBirth returns with a vengeance!

- 3rd hit now knocks the opponent up, opening them for all kinds of follow up attacks! Now the last hit will only be used if 2nd attack hit the opponent.

 

Air kick: (in air 'a')

A quick aerial hit.

 

Covet: (crouching 'a')

Attack that has low range and deals low damage, but steals enemy Power on successful hit!

Payback: (b)

When used normally - a regular medium attack with good range. If used right after enemy attack - move's power increases and the opponent is pushed back!

 

Pursuit: (b after a, a-a, b, c or Dc)

A nifty follow up and repositioning tool that crushed enemy's staning guard.

 

Tail Slam: (aerial 'b')

A spiking aerial attack. Useful against standing opponents.

 

Sand Attack: (crouching 'b')

Deals little damage, but pushes the enemy backwards considerable. Useful as a 'get off me' tool.

Cut: (c)

A disjointed heavy attack with good range.

 

Moon Kick: (aerial 'c')

Heavy aerial attack that changes your momentum. Most useful against opponents who are also in the air.

 

Tail Sweep: (crouching 'c')

Trips an opponent. Crushes standing guard. Damages downed opponent.

Tackle: (while running - 'a', 'b' or 'c')

A useful dashing attack. You end up on the opposite side of the enemy if it hits.

Psychic: (y)

Your basic throw. Hold forward or backward to choose which derection to hurl your opponent to.

Shadow Ball: (Hold 'x' to charge the ball. Press 'x' again to release it. Can be released in the air)

Long-ranged attack that can't be guarded if fully charged.

 

Double Team: (Fx, Bx)

Feint and confuse your opponent with this set of moves! Pressing 'x' while holding forward will feint a jump towards the enemy, pressing it while holding backwards creates 3 clones of yourself momentarily.

 

Dark Pulse: (Dx)

The most powerful attack in your arsenal! But use it wisely: single use of this ability costs 333 Power, or a full third of a single Power bar.

 

Crescent Kick: (DBb)

A disjointed attack that will execue even if you're knocked down in the middle of it. Useful against aerial opponents, but is a bit slow to get going. You can effectivey combo it with:

 

Mean Look: (DBx)

Leaves up to 2 traps that stun the enemy who had a misfortune of touching them.

 

Confuse Ray: (DFx)

Unleashes a whisp of energy that flies around the enemy, confusing them. Attack while the opponent is backturned!

Last Resort: (DBDBc)

A powerful counterattack. Use it wisely. Costs 1000 power.

 

Moonlight: (DBDBx)

Restore half of your health! Can't be stopped or interrupted, but costs you 3000 power.

ERO MOVES

Attract: (z)

Summons a male umbreon that rushes from behind an enemy. Be careful! If enemy dodges his advances, your assistant will be all too happy to use you instead! Defeat the opponent with this move for a secret animation!

 

Mating Dive: (DFDFz)

Sends tha assistant sliding worward. Drains opponent’s Power and can’t be blocked.
